Liberty Firewood FAQ
Answers about our Clinton location, November 2026 firewood, self-service racks, pickup, delivery, measurements and products planned for Spring 2027.
How long is your firewood cut?
Our standard firewood is cut to approximately 15 inches.
Where is Liberty Firewood located?
Liberty Firewood is located at 648 North Jackson, Clinton, Michigan 49236.
Do you have self-service firewood?
Yes. Roadside self-service firewood racks will be available beginning in November 2026. Current rack quantity and pricing will be posted on site. The rack is cash only and uses a drop box.
Can I pick up a larger order?
Yes. Face cords and full cords can be picked up by appointment beginning in November 2026.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and Cash App for scheduled orders. The self-service rack is cash only. We do not accept checks, debit cards, credit cards or IOUs.
Do you sell kindling?
Premium soft maple kindling is planned for Spring 2027. It will not be part of our November 2026 launch.
What is a face cord?
A face cord is one row of stacked firewood 4 feet high by 8 feet wide and one piece of firewood deep. The actual cubic volume depends on piece length.
What is a full cord?
A standard full cord is 128 cubic feet of stacked firewood.
Is your wood moisture checked?
Yes. We use a moisture meter to help ensure seasoned wood is ready to burn.
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver throughout Lenawee, Washtenaw, Jackson and Monroe counties, plus select areas of Wayne County. Regular orders include free delivery within 10 miles of our Clinton location. Beyond 10 miles, delivery is $2.00 per loaded mile. Our $525 oak full cord special includes delivery and stacking within 30 miles.
Do you stack delivered firewood?
Yes. Optional stacking is available for $25 per face cord.
Is Liberty Firewood the same business as Matt's Firewood?
Yes. Longtime customers may remember the business as Matt's Firewood. The current name is Liberty Firewood.
Do you sell wood for restaurants and pizza ovens?
Cooking and smoking wood for pizza ovens, restaurants, food trucks and smokers is planned for Spring 2027.
Do you buy logs?
Yes. We purchase hardwood logs in bulk from suitable local logging, tree service and tree trimming companies. Contact us about current needs.
Do you sell campfire wood?
Firewood bundles and packaged campfire wood are planned for Spring 2027. Our November 2026 launch focuses on face cords, full cords, pickup, delivery and self-service racks.
What firewood species do you sell?
At our November 2026 opening, we plan to offer oak, cherry, soft maple and mixed hardwood in face cords and full cords. Current face cord pricing is listed on our Firewood & Pricing page.
Do you offer retail or wholesale firewood supply?
Retail bundles, kindling and specialty wholesale products are planned for Spring 2027. Contact us if you would like to discuss a future retail or commercial supply relationship.
Do you sell green firewood?
Yes, when inventory is available. Green firewood may be offered at a slight discount for customers who want to stock up for a future season. Because green wood contains more moisture, it needs additional drying time before efficient burning.
What is the difference between green and seasoned firewood?
Seasoned firewood has had time to dry and is better suited for burning now. Green firewood contains more moisture and is intended for customers who can stack it properly and allow additional drying time. Drying time varies by species, piece size, airflow, weather and starting moisture.
What is a Campfire Pack?
Campfire Packs are planned for Spring 2027. They will combine packaged firewood with kindling for convenient campfire use.
Do you deliver firewood to Airbnb, cabins or lake houses?
Yes. We can schedule firewood delivery for Airbnb hosts, vacation rentals, cabins and lake houses within our delivery area, subject to order size, distance and availability.
Do you sell smoking wood or custom-cut wood?
Smoking wood, cooking wood and specialty custom cuts are planned for Spring 2027.

Camper Special, Kindling & Storage Products
What is the Camper Special?
The Camper Special is planned for Spring 2027. It will combine firewood and kindling in a convenient campfire package named after Henry, our 1971 Ford F-250 Camper Special.
Do you sell firewood or kindling storage containers?
30-gallon removable-lid storage barrels are planned as part of our Spring 2027 specialty product expansion.
Do seniors receive a stacking discount?
Yes. Standard stacking is $25 per face cord. Senior citizen stacking is $15 per face cord.

Smokeless Fire Pits & Oak Full Cord Special
Why is my smokeless fire pit still smoking?
One possible cause is firewood that is too long or too large for the burn chamber. Short-cut smokeless fire pit chunks are planned for Spring 2027.
Do you offer shorter firewood for smokeless fire pits?
Custom-cut smokeless fire pit chunks are planned for Spring 2027 and will not be part of our November 2026 launch.
What is the oak full cord special?
One full cord of seasoned oak is $525 delivered and stacked within 30 miles of Liberty Firewood in Clinton, Michigan. The package saves $30 compared with regular oak pricing and standard stacking.
